India Gears Up For Crypto Code After FSB Announced To Provide Roadmap in October G20 Pick

In the monsoon session of Parliament, Indian finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the importance of international cooperation on crypto-asset regulation. This follows a turbulent year for the crypto market, complete with margin calls and defaults.

Due to the lack of deep integration between crypto assets and financial markets, these adverse events have not resulted in systemic risks. Just in time for India’s presidency of the G20 later this year, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) announced that it will provide a roadmap to regulate certain crypto assets in October.
